Mr. Smith has served as a financial advisor to local governments, utilities, universities, hospitals, school districts, special districts, and other nonprofit entities since 2007. He has represented clients in Texas, as well as throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions of the United States. Mr. Smith has structured a broad range of tax-exempt and taxable financings including general obligation, certificates of obligation, revenue, project finance, and tax increment financings. He has served as an advisor on transactions totaling $15 billion in par amount of bonds.

Prior to joining Specialized Public Finance Inc., Mr. Smith was a Vice President with Davenport & Company where he was a founding member of the Charlotte, North Carolina office. Before joining Davenport & Company, Mr. Smith worked for First Southwest Company.

Mr. Smith earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is a Series 50 registered Municipal Advisor with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
